Dear Colleagues & Friends,
It is with great pleasure to welcome you to 12th International Congress on Peritoneal Surface Malignancies on September 10 – 12, 2021 in Beijing, China.
Peritoneal metastasis from abdominal and pelvic malignancies has been a long-standing but ignored clinical challenge with few effective treatments and poor prognosis. Thanks to the groundbreaking works of the pioneers in the field of peritoneal carcinomatosis, the landscape is changing, slowly but steadily for the better. After over 40 years of exploration and hard work, compelling evidence is available to support cytoreductive surgery (CRS) plus hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) as the key to the successful treatment of selected patients with peritoneal metastasis.
The biennial PSOGI meetings have witnessed and promoted the birth, growth and development of Peritoneal Surface Oncology. The successful 11th PSOGI conference in Paris organized by Diane Goéré, Olivier Glehen and Marc Pocard was very impressive, with informative and exciting scientific programs. At the Paris conference, the delegates realized the importance of new initiatives to make PSOGI far reaching and more international.
In an unprecedented effort, the PSOGI2021 will be held in Beijing, China, a fantastic city with time honored culture and history, and a country with the most acute unmet clinical need for highly professional training and education in the knowledge and technology for peritoneal cancer treatment. Although significant achievements have been made in the diagnosis and adequate treatment of peritoneal metastasis in China, much more remains to be done, and this Beijing PSOGI2021 will be a great impetus to improving peritoneal cancer treatment globally. The conference will create unprecedented opportunities for exchanging cutting-edge scientific knowledge and practice experiences, and for more fruitful international/national collaborations.
Beijing is an open and inclusive city, with both ancient civilization and modernization. We believed that “East meeting West” in Beijing will produce unique experiences for all the delegates from every corner of the world.
Welcome to Beijing PSOGI2021!
